The construction seems sturdy. The battery compartment has a rubber seal to prevent it from getting wet if you use it in the rain. In the upper area are the 3 indicators and the gear button; it's made of rubber so I assume water won't enter. The alert LEDs are the cheap SMD type, but we don't need them to last more than 1000 hours on. For one or two times that we will use it in its lifespan, it's more than enough.
The expiration is in December 2038.
I would have liked the magnet to have a bit more strength. It doesn't fall even if you put it upside down, but a little more would have made me happier.
What I least like is that the magnet is not very powerful and I find the plastic of the beacon fragile against a fall. Only three batteries, still the same duration... Well, I'll include a spare set.

Misleading advertising?
I have put in the batteries. Pressed start, flashes immediately. After a while, all three LEDs turned green, battery, GPS, and internet.
It seems to work perfectly.

I have tested it outside for approximately one minute, without reaching the 60 seconds when it communicates with traffic, and the internet and GPS connection indicators turn green.
I don't see an option to power it via cable, it only runs on batteries. This information about the item is false, which is why one star was removed; the rest is correct.
